Job Description

Job Title: Business and Project Support Officer
Location: Boucher Road, Belfast
Duration: Temporary (6 months, possible extension)
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £18.91 (PO1 Grade)

 

Apple Recruitment Services are looking for a Business and Project Support Officer for a 6-month temporary role, with the possibility of extension. The role involves supporting project delivery, governance, and business case management across NIFRS’ Asset & Services projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Governance: Support prioritization and planning of projects to align with NIFRS’ corporate and financial plans. Coordinate with stakeholders and senior management to ensure alignment and effective project delivery.
  • Business Case Development: Manage the development and approval process of business cases, ensuring compliance with the HM Treasury Business Case Guidance and NI Better Business Case requirements. Provide expert advice and maintain project documentation, including Post Project Evaluations (PPEs).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and smooth delivery, managing project timelines, resources, risks, and budgets.
  • Project Implementation & Reporting: Support the implementation of projects, monitor budgets and progress, and produce regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (business management, finance, etc.) with at least 2 years of experience in business case development, OR an HND with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • A valid driving license and access to a form of personal transport for official business use.
