Workshop Manager

On behalf of our client, a UK and ROI wide vehicle hire company, we have a new opportunity for a Workshop Manager in the Greater Belfast area.

 

This is a highly important role within the Branch and Organisation as the Workshop Manager will ensure a high level of customer service is promoted throughout the workshop as well as build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment, retention, development and leadership of a high calibre and high performing team.
  • Ensure that all customer interactions are positive and handled in a timely and professional manner with the aim of being their first choice destination for vehicle hire and services in the community.
  • To get vehicles back on the road having completed safe, legal and compliant services, maintenance and repairs (scheduled and unscheduled) promptly and cost effectively while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure the Management of 3rd party contactors.
  • Collaboration with rental team.
  • Compliance (Workshop & vehicles) e.g. audits, security processes, Health & Safety.
  • Manage Controls and procedures in financial and administrative areas of workshop activity including Budgets & forecasts.
  • Financial & operational KPI reviews, planning for Continuous business improvement and management reporting.

 

We are looking for a Workshop Manager who has previously trained as a Mechanic and has a high level of customer care. This is a long term career opportunity as the employer have a low turnover of staff. 

Salary is negotiable and dependant on experience. The Workshop Manager can also expect an excellent benefits package to include:

 

  • There will be a bonus of 10% of salary – payable every 6 months subject to meeting agreed KPI’s
  • A company car or car scheme- details can be provided.
  • Holidays are 23 days plus a day for your birthday
  • This increases in two years to 24, five years to 25 etc. to a maximum of 28 days

Applicants will need to demonstrate:

 

  • GCSE Maths and English at C or above or equivalent
  • City & Guilds or equivalent level 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent in vehicle diagnostics and repair.
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Management, leadership & development skills.
  • At least 12 months previous supervisory experience within a vehicle workshop environment is essential.
  • Ability to perform in a pressurised environment.
  • Team player with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office products.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Self-Motivated and commercially driven.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels across all domains.
  • A BSC Health & Safety Level 2 and/ or experience of HGV would be desirable.
