Financial Controller

On behalf of our client, a growing Northern Ireland domestic Services provider, we are seeking a Financial Controller to cover a fixed term contract in Belfast Office.

This role is to cover a term between 1st March and 31st December 2022.

The Financial Controller will support the Director in the strategic direction of the Finance department, including to regularly evaluate service provision and implement solutions as appropriate to strengthen financial controls, enhance service quality and ensure the delivery of efficient, effective and customer focused accounting services, The post holder will ensure the timely production and dissemination of financial and related information required for statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance purposes.

Duties include:

1.Manage the accounting services function, ensuring all employees comply with all policies and procedures and with regulatory and statutory requirements

2.Assist with internal and external audit and risk management processes, following through on all actions to resolution ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice.

3.Take the lead in the preparation of the Group’s Annual Accounts.

4.Lead the annual year-end audit process for the organisation and act as primary liaison with the external auditors.

5.Take the lead in the production of annual financial statements for Group subsidiaries.

6.Ensure the effective operation, maintenance, development and implementation of systems established to deliver accounting services that meet the needs of the Radius Group. These include:

•Payroll

•Banking & Administration

•Rent, Sales and Purchase Ledgers

•Project and Nominal Ledgers

•Fixed Assets Register

7.Ensure that the organisation’s financial systems, chart of accounts and coding structure remain relevant to the business.

8.Co-ordinate and monitor monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations ensuring they are prepared on time and to a high standard.

9.Establish month end routines to support the production of timely & accurate management accounts.

10.Contribute as required to variance analyses and red flag areas of concern.

11.Contribute to resource and budget planning within the finance directorate.

12.Assist with the preparation of Group budgets and forecasts including cash forecasting.

Criteria:

·Eligible to work in the UK.

·Level six qualification (e.g. Bachelor's Degree, Graduate diploma) or above and a current member of a recognised accountancy body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)

·A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience of managing staff and evidence of reporting directly to Senior Management /Board

·Demonstrable experience, in the last five years, of producing Annual Accounts for an organisation with a minimum turnover of £10 million

·IT literate with practical experience of having operated integrated IT based financial systems, Excel, PowerPoint

·A current full driving licence and access to a suitable form of transport* (*where an applicant indicates that a disability prohibits them from driving, this criterion will be waived at the shortlisting stage. In such circumstances, consideration will be given in any subsequent offer of appointment to suitable alternative arrangements that the candidate may be able to put in place that would enable them to meet the travel requirements for the post).

The organisation offers a competitive salary of £48,800 based on a 37 hour week to start, as well as a great range of benefits.
