On behalf of our client, a household name and leading provider in the commercial and domestic markets, we are seeking a Business Analyst to join their Regulatory Affairs department based in Greater Belfast.

This is a full time, permanent job opportunity within a growing organisation. Reporting to the Regulatory Manager, the Business Analyst will aid in the charging process to gas suppliers for the gas used throughout our distribution system. They will also be involved in ensuring that all meter inspections are carried out across our network and liaise with the Engineering department

The Business Analyst will also provide analytical support to the wider regulatory function ensuring the organisation complies with its Licence and other applicable legislative obligations.

Duties include:

1.To assist and support the Transportation Services Manager in the area of gas distribution including liaison with Gas Suppliers, other gas network operators, other gas industry participants and key stakeholders such as Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation (UR) on day to day Transportation Services issues and industry developments.

2.To facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of information to Gas Suppliers, NIAUR, other gas network operators and other company departments to meet Network Code and other transportation arrangements objectives.

3.To develop a full understanding and have the ability to produce network charges for Gas Suppliers in a timely manner in line with the published Company Conveyance Charge statements and the Postalised tariffs.

4.To develop an excellent working knowledge of Network Codes and gas transportation network operations within Northern Ireland.

5.To assist the Transportation Services Manager in the application of Network Code activities and in particular the delivery of supply competition within the Northern Ireland gas market to include development of an excellent working knowledge of supply completion systems utilised by the company to support this activity

6.Assist in the training of the Transportation Services Officers and Transportation Services Administrators to ensure compliance with Network Code activities.

7.Assist with administrative duties as directed by the Transportation Services Manager.

8.In exceptional circumstances when required will participate in a rota system to provide 24-7 cover for supply competition activities.

9.To provide analytical support to the Regulatory Manager when required to ensure the organisation complies with its regulatory obligations under its Licence and other applicable legislative obligations.

You will need:

·Bachelor’s degree in a numerate, business or legal related discipline.or 3 A-levels (or equivalent) along with a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a relevant business environment.

·Post qualification experience in a relevant business environment.

·Experience of analytical techniques and computer modelling of business activities.

·Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel and Access.

·Strong analytical and numerical skills.

·Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

·A self-starter capable of working alone with the minimum of supervision to generate original ideas and deliver business solutions within tight timescales.

The Business Analyst will work 37 hours per week, 8.30am and 7.00pm Monday to Thursday and between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Fridays.

The post holder can expect a starting salary of around £23000 which will be reviewed after 6 months and the post holder can expect yearly increases. There is also an annual bonus of 6-9% of your annual salary and a fantastic range of benefits in this long standing organisation:
