Billing Coordinator

On behalf of our client, a top 100 Northern Ireland company with offices based in Antrim, we are seeking a Billing Coordinator to cover a Maternity contract of approx. 12 months with the opportunity for a permanent position.


This is a great opportunity to join a growing and forward thinking company which provide a service to commercial, public sector and private customers throughout Northern Ireland. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30am- 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 3.45pm (37.5 hours).


Reporting to the Senior Bill8ing lead, the Billing Coordinator will lead day to day activities within the Billing team. They will ensure that all tariff and contract customers are billed for the gas they use in an accurate and timely manner. They will be responsible for training new and existing members of staff, ensuring delivery of best in class customer service to customer and stakeholders.


Additionally, they will be the first point of contact for potential and existing customers and stakeholders, monitoring queries and complaints through to successful resolution.


Main duties and responsibilities

·Take the lead in day to day activities within the Billing team under the direction of the Senior Billing Lead, escalating issues where appropriate, and delegating work consistently within the team.

·Ensure delivery of daily tariff billing and monthly contract billing activities.

·Liaise and coordinate activities with third party mail house.

·Assist the Senior Billing Lead with training and development activities for both new and existing team members.

·Demonstrating first class customer care and delivering brand values, answer incoming calls, advising or redirecting as appropriate.

·Administration of complaints process, including preparation of weekly and monthly reports.

Essential Criteria:

·Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (or equivalent) to include English & Maths.

·Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer facing role in a commercial environment.

·Proficient in the use of MS Excel

·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise personal and team workload.


·Familiarity with CRM software and systems.

·Previous experience in a billing role or analytical role

·Familiarity with contract billing arrangements and tariffs.

·Experience of supervising a busy, multi-functional team.

·Previous experience within the utility sector

The Billing Coordinator can expect a salary from £23,000 depending on experience and the company also offers a great benefits packages, together with comprehensive training and development programmes and the opportunity to excel in challenging and progressive roles.

·Health Insurance- PHI available after 26 weeks of absence, 75% of basic salary for up to 60 months (subject to acceptance by insurers)

·Sickness Absence- After 12 months service, 26 weeks at full pay, 26 weeks at half pay (subject to medical certification)
