Accounts Assistant

On behalf of our client, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to oversee the accounting and assist with operational functions.


This is a full time, permanent opportunity based in Lisburn. The primary duties in this role will be related to the accounts function however the Accounts Assistant will, with training and direction be responsible for overseeing the Health and Safety function of this events provider.


Reporting to the CEO, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

·Preparing, reviewing and posting all supplier invoices for stage 1 sign-off and for non-duplication, accuracy and terms;

·Tracking accounts payable through bank reconciliation following stage 2 sign-off and payment;

·Creation and posting of sales invoices and credit notes to Zero accounts package;

·Posting of lodgements;

·Reviewing accounts receivable and follow up as necessary;

·Analysis of event cash receipts and expenses and preparation of relevant reporting.

·Cash flow management & forecasting

·Preparation of financial, management & operational reports.

·Maintenance of all company financial records

·Responsible for day-to-day financial matters

·Credit control

·Oversee the Health & Safety function and ensure high standards are maintained

·Using electronic and manual filing systems with due regard to security and confidentiality (GDPR)

·Assist the events operations when required.


Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths and English and 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Function.
  • Excellent IT skills including excel and an accounts package.
  • The ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of stake holders.


The post holder can expect competitive salary and benefits for a 40 hour week with excellent Company benefits and holidays. The post holder will also need to attend events to assist in the running of these, these will be outside of normal office hours.
